One Flew South
Made it to Hotlanta! Seriously, does Hartsfield/Jackson airport have A/C? It’s only 80+ degrees outside but it feels much hotter up in here!! All my warm layers are coming off just so I can put them all back on when I arrive in Dublin tmrw morning. I had a few hours layover here so I found the only sushi bar available. Got a much needed Mint Julep and pretty damn good sushi bento box, plus a very interesting black rice pudding with bourbon peaches on top. We are in Georgia!
Had a few mini crises getting to this leg of the journey this morning. Luckily they were resolved pretty quickly though. Much props to my Roxi (Rosalba Campbell) for letting me spend the night and getting me to the airport bright & early this morning. For about 5 minutes before we left her house, I could not find my awesome fanny pack that contained all the important shit. Luckily, I was just a little stressed and if it was a snake, it woulda bit me. (More of my Mama comin’ out!) Secondly after all of Joanne's fabulousness last night (see previous post), it turned out that the rolling backpack that was now supposed to be my carry-on would NOT fit in the overhead bin or under the seat. Didnt bring a purse, just that fannypack (Side note: when you’re especially endowed, front facing fanny packs are NOT the business- I’ll let y’all figure that one out, but thankfully strap was adjustable enough to become a cross body bag!) Anyway, luckily that Delta plane had a special cargo closet for the bigger bags but stewardess couldnt guarantee that all planes would so I would probably have to check it on future flights. Great, more money. However, on flight from Salt Lake City to Atlanta, they were offering complimentary bag checking because flight was so full all the way to Dublin. I bought a small cheap tote for my essential carry on stuff and now my flight experience is much easier. Traveling mercies, Carolyn Roberts!
Just boarded final leg… next stop, The Emerald Isle!
