Packing Problems
My attempt at packing was ridiculous. I rolled, I stuffed, I huffed, I puffed. Half the clothes are in the carry-on tote bag, half the clothes are in the rolling backpack that's supposed to get checked. They’re both overflowing, wont zip up and the ever important weatherproof bulky jacket wasn’t even in either yet. Damn. Am I going to have to wear this at all times?? How on earth is this going to work? I’m not carrying this thing around everywhere either. Obviously, I need to bring less clothes. My mother's voice rang out in my head, “This is not a fashion show, Jennifer.” But yet, I still want to look cute while frolicking around the U.K. Who knows who might be looking or taking digits?
Enter Joanne Levine, friend, neighbor, packer extraordinaire, and just a level headed lady.
“Why is it again, you’re not taking a regular suitcase for a 2 week trip abroad, Jeni?”
“Well, Joanne, I actually don’t know. I must have had a good reason at some point, but whatever it was, it’s not making much sense now.”
Problem solved, 1 larger suitcase is expertly packed (including aforementioned jacket) and rolling backpack is now the carry-on with plenty of room. Thanks Joanne. Sometimes, I’m a real piece of work.
Now, I try to sleep before alarm goes off in 5 hours. OMG, IT’S ALMOST HERE!!!!!
